The "Dog Park" and other news

The "dog park" in our little village is one of our favorite places to go. We try to get there every day. It's a short 5 minute walk from our home. It used to be the Coastside School complex, about 50 years ago, but is now just foundations and dirt roads overgrown with wildflowers, junipers and other trees, and lots of pampas grass. Our sweet lab can go off-leash here and play with his friends that he meets...seems everyone in our village has a dog and walks there!
I love the wildflowers and the views of the ocean. Note the growing baby belly.

Zoom loves the trails, the pampas grass (he turns the dried reeds into lightsabers, torches, swords, spears, and feather dusters), and the huge tree that he climbs and swings from .

Zoom went to the eye doctor's for a normal check-up. He did great and passed everything with flying colors! Daddio got glasses!!!! (Picture to come later.)
In other news: Twix our beloved gerbil died today. He was buried at a special spot in the dog park. The eulogy was as follows:
Twix was a great gerbil. We are so glad that he spent his life with us. He was brown and cute and soft. He was adventurous and curious and loved to explore the tubes. He loved his cheese and nutbutter treats. We will miss him. But we are glad he's in a great place now.
Amen.
