Landing

Welp, my greatest thanks to those faithful friends and family who continue to check my blog after weeks of nothingness. You are true googs.

Brief summary of the past two or three weeks:
Zoomer and I landed in CT, saw precious friends there, drove with them to MA, saw the Ancient One and Plymouth. That was fun. The kids will tell you the best part was the hotel pool--it had a replica of the Mayflower with an awesome slide. That kept them busy and wore them out! Worst part, I caught an AWFUL virus that quickly degenerated into a sinus infection--just in time for the drive to Jersey, the wedding, the niece's birthay party, etc., etc., etc. Uggh. I got well just in time to fly to CA and meet Daddio--of course by then, Zoomer was sick!
The wedding was beautiful. We were glad to make it and see all of the Beamer side of the family.
Our niece got a trampoline for her b-day. It was fun to watch the guys set it up and then the kids go crazy on it.
Zoomer spent a lot of time playing Mario brothers on an old Nintendo system while I was sick. He also spent a day with a dear friend and even slept over! We are blessed with awesome friends and family.
We did manage to squeeze in our Mother's Day weekend trip to Jamestown, VA with my parents and sister and her kids. That was a lot of fun, except for the 9 hour drive and being so sick still. Oh well. Some of the highlights were that it was Jamestown Day (the day they actually landed there) and so there were special events. We all got to help hoist a sail on one of the ships. Zoomer was describing it to Daddio today. Most memorable for him was that Papa was holding the line that if he let go we'd all die....hmmm....
The gift shop and the hotel pool were also highlights for the kids. We also heard Native drummers drum and sing. That was cool too.

Daddio drove out to CA fairly uneventfully except for the AC konking out in his car upon leaving Texas. So he and Jakers and the gerbs got to experience the full force of the California Desert.....hot, hot, hot!

This week in Ca, we've been driving around trying to get our bearings and decide
a) where we'd like to live, b) where we can afford to live, and c)what is commutable to Redwood City. I can tell ya right now, this is going to take some time, and a miracle from above. But we all know, MIRACLES HAPPEN!!!!!!

Keep in prayers please a) housing and b)getting rid of morning sickness!!!! I need to feel better soon to be more functional around here. Ah well. As they say, this too shall pass.

There are many beautiful areas around here. And lots of dog parks. There's also lots of city and congestion near the coast. That about sums it up so far.
Love y'all!
Dawn
